NANOCOMPOSITE PARTICLES FOR BIO-APPLICATIONS
Materials and Bio-Interfaces

by Tito Trindade (University of Aveiro, Portugal) & Ana L Daniel da Silva (University of Aveiro, Portugal)

This book provides a concise state of the art of the synthesis and properties of nanocomposite particles with interest for diverse bio-applications. Contributions are mainly related to the chemical design of nanocomposite particles, their properties as well as of their constituent materials, and the tailoring of bio-interfaces that might be relevant for the fields of clinical diagnosis and drug delivery procedures, among others bio-applications. Examples of materials described in this book include particles composed of a polymer matrix containing dispersed inorganic nanophases and other bio-functionalized nanomaterials, along with comments to their practical interest and limitations associated to their use.

Published by Pan Stanford Publishing and distributed exclusively by World Scientific in Asia Pacific, except for India and Japan.
